The project involved the construction of concrete reservoirs using post-tensioned technology, along with administration buildings, an integrated central control room, a chlorination plant, and other facilities. This ambitious endeavor earned a Guinness World Record for being the world’s largest drinking water storage facility. In recognition of its exceptional design, the project received a highly commended award for outstanding international design at the British Expertise International Award in 2015. Additionally, it was honored with the NWC KSA key project award in 2016 upon completion. The project features 11 circular tanks, each with a diameter of 120 meters and a height of 18 meters. These tanks are hydraulically linked, providing a total storage volume of over 2.06 million cubic meters of drinking water.
